Affiliations and Memoranda of Understanding
The Telecommunications Act, Chap. 47:31 (the Act) mandates the Authority to establish conditions for facilitating the achievement of its strategic objectives in a manner consistent with Trinidad and Tobago’s international commitment in relation to the liberalization of the telecommunications industry
As a signatory of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) the Authority is obligated to develop its spectrum policies and procedures in accordance with the ITU. In pursuant of this mandate, the Authority has affiliations and memoranda of understanding with various local, regional and international telecommunication organizations and regulatory bodies which include:
In addition, Trinidad & Tobago is a participating country in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), which is the basic numbering scheme throughout the US, Canada, the Bahamas and 16 Caribbean countries.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
At the 4th ITU Regional Frequency Coordination Meeting held in Belize in September 2018, the Agence Nationale Des Fraquences (ANFR) and the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) concluded the above agreement, under Article 6 of the Radio Regulations.
