TATT is conducting a National Broadcasting Survey to better understand how people in Trinidad and Tobago use radio, television, and digital broadcasting services.

Currently, there is limited data on the broadcasting sector, especially in areas such as:

  • TV viewership and radio listenership
  • Audience size and reach
  • Local content on air
  • Changes in how people consume media

The results will help TATT:

  • Develop informed broadcasting policies
  • Improve the facilitation of broadcasting services
  • Support the growth and development of the broadcasting sector

The purpose of this survey is to collect reliable, nationally representative data on how people in Trinidad and Tobago consume broadcasting services.

Specifically, the survey gathers information on:

  • the television and radio audience
  • The types of content people prefer
  • How often and when media is accessed
  • The platforms and devices people use to access content

This information will provide a clearer picture of audience preference and media usage across the country.

Data will be collected through a main questionnaire, which asks general questions about your broadcasting habits. Participants will also have the option to take part in a media diary, where they can record their media usage over a 7-day period.

As an incentive, individuals who complete the media diary will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of ten tablets.

Participants may be asked about:

  • Their television and radio habits
  • Their use of streaming or online platforms
  • The types of programmes they watch or listen to (e.g. news, sports, entertainment)
  • The amount of time spent consuming media
  • Access to broadcasting services (such as cable, free-to-air, or internet-based services)
  • Basic demographic information (such as age group and general location)

All information collected is used for research purposes only and helps build a clearer understanding of media use in Trinidad and Tobago.

The data will be used to:

  • Measure audience reach and ratings
  • Understand media consumption patterns
  • Assess access to broadcasting services
  • Evaluate content preferences
  • Support evidence-based decision-making and policy development

Results will be presented in reports and summaries for stakeholders and the public.

Yes. All responses are confidential and will only be used for statistical and research purposes. Individual responses will not be shared.

The survey targets 2000 households and individuals across Trinidad and Tobago to ensure results are nationally representative.

This survey is important because it helps improve broadcasting services in Trinidad and Tobago by understanding person’s preference with regard to radio and television content. Your participation helps shape better policies and services for everyone.
